Can you change Fiery Dragon Sword to other type??? - Guild Wars Forums

I have a Fiery Dragon Sword. I like the look of it basically is it has flames. What I am wondering is if I can change the component upgrade to make it an Ebon or Cruel Dragon sword and retain the look of the flames?? Anyone know?

You cannot change the damage type from fire... its impossible. It will always do fire damage.

What if I put on another sword hilt though?? I don't want to ruin the sword which is why I haven't just tried. Has anyone tried this?

Not 100% sure about that... all I know is you cannot change the damage type... they are and always will be fire swords.

If you try to use a different hilt say EBON or Shocking you get a reply that says this upgrade is not compatible with this item or something like that I tried it once for kicks as the same thought occured to me about changing the damage type. On a side not if you expert salvage a dragon sword you will get a fiery sword hilt for use on other swords.

Nooooooo I wanted an icy dragon sword. I did manage to salvage the fiery hilt off one fiery sword though.
